DIAN HONG Dian hong teas produce a golden orange colour with a sweet, spicy and smooth aroma with pleasing floral overtones and a tinge of citrus. FU TEA Fu Tea is made of Small Chinese Tea leafs from the Hunan Province in China. Fu tea contains antioxidants which help the body to fight harmful free radicals. This tea is said to help digestion, as well the compounds in Fu Tea are believed to adjust sugar metabolism (prevent and cure diabetes), reduce blood fat and high blood pressure, resist thrombasis and improve immunity of human body. In northern China and Tibet, Fu tea has been a dietary staple for centuries. Golden Needle tea has golden tips atop long and slender leaves, with a full-bodied teas with an abundance of flavour. KEEMUN This is a a winey and fruity taste, designated as a China Famous Tea. The aroma of Keemun is fruity, with hints of pine and floweriness which creates the very distinctive and balanced taste. Keemun contains less caffeine than Assam tea. LAPSANG SOUCHONG Lapsang souchong is a black tea that is dried over burning pine, producing a strong smoky flavour. This tea is an acquired taste as it tastes quite smokey. PU ERH TEA (known as ‘bolay tea’ in Cantonese) Pu Erh Tea leaves are compressed into bricks and aged until they have a musty, bookish fragrance.This is a black tea from the Yunnan region of China. It has a an earthy aroma and taste. The earthy taste is not subtle, chances are, you'll either love it or hate it. This tea is prized as a tonic and an aid to digestion, and vintage pu erh is sold for astonishing prices in China. TIANJIAN BLACK TEA Tianjian Tea has a light taste for a black tea and is slightly smokey. It is said to help metabolize fats and calm digestion, similiar to Pu-erh tea. YING DE HONG This tea should have a cocoa-like aroma and like most Chinese black teas a sweet aftertaste. It's produced mechanically and is often of a very poor quality. YUNNAN JIG From the Yunnan region of China. This tea has luscious soft leaves, and a unique peppery taste. It's a very forgiving tea, it will not taste bitter when over-steeped. INDIAN BLACK TEAS
ASSAM This tea is full bodied, strong and distinctively malty. It has a strong, bright colour and has a touch of fruitiness. DARJEELING When brewed it has a thin-bodied, light-coloured liquor with a floral aroma. The flavor has tinge of astringent tannic characteristics, and a musky spiciness known as 'muscatel'. A sweet cooling aftertaste should be felt in your mouth. NILGIRI Nilgiri tea is a dark intensely aromatic, fragrant, flavourful tea grown in Southern India. It has a lively fresh taste and lemony aroma. It is a smooth and very "user-friendly" tea. OTHER BLACK TEAS
CEYLON (Sri Lanka) Ceylon Black Tea has a powerful, light, citrusy crisp taste.
KENYAN (Africa)Kenyan teas are famous for their brightness, attractive colur, brisk flavour, textures and delicate and fragrant aroma. VIETNAMESE Good quality Vietnamese black teas may be tippy and have similar characteristics to both Keemun and Yunnan teas, with less smokiness and more sweetness. NEPALESE It's a fruity tasting tea, sharing many similarities with Darjeeling from India. RIZE TEA (Black Sea coast of Turkey) The most popular tea in Turkey. It's a red, strongly aromatic tea, which is dark red-brown in the cup, and has a slightly sweet taste with intoxicating effects. It is something like a cordial, without the alcohol and is often served in the evenings after meals, served with sugar. THAI TEA (Thailand) Thai tea is a drink made from strongly-brewed powdered black tea. Dark Thai iced tea is served chilled with no milk content, sweetened with sugar only.Anather variation is Lime Thai tea flavoured with lime as well as sweetened with sugar, mint may also be added. GEORGIAN TEA (Caucasus in Georgia) Georgia is an ideal tea producing country; with a subtropical climate with high humidity, heavy percipitation, and mountains. The quality of tea from Georgia is usually lower than places like China and Japan, but is produced mostly for local consumption.

A Boston University study concluded that short and long-term black tea consumption reverses endothelial vasomotor dysfunction in patients with coronary artery disease. This finding may partly explain the association between tea intake and decreased cardiovascular disease events. On the negative side a German study found that the addition of milk to tea cancels out the vascular protective effects of tea. _____________________________ BLACK TEA AND STRESS A study has shown that Black Tea can help your body respond and recover from stress. When a group of tea drinkers were studied, they responded to stress normally as everyone else. The difference was their bodies calmed down much faster than the comparison group of fake tea drinkers. This is attributed to the healthful compounds such as polyphenols, flavonoids and amino acids found in tea.
